Edith Dean- Drummer

Professionally known as “COOKIE”, she started her career in music as a drummer performing in the Atlanta Jazz Festival with local jazz artist Addae Jahid in Out of Hear while still a student at Atlanta’s Frederick Douglas High School. She was featured in Jet Magazine for making the drum line as the first female drummer to ever march with the Morehouse Maroon and White Tigers. “COOKIE” performed with the nationally acclaimed Spelman College Jazz Ensemble. She made a career in music by touring with many artists - such as Fenderella- Joyce Irby and Dallas Austin -on the Maximum Thrust tour, Fade II Black tour- overseas entertaining our Nation’s Military, Loiz Lane- featured on the Arsenio Hall Show as the Flavor of the Future, and later toured as an Arista recording artist as Clive Davis’ Drummer for the first and only all female, all black rock band- Edith’s Wish. She also performed with Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams at the Stellar Music Awards Show hosted in Atlanta’s Civic Center. Presently, “COOKIE” tours with the female hit recording R&B band-KLIMAXX. Recently they were featured on VH-1 reality TV Show, Bands Reunited. She can be found performing in church when she isn’t touring or performing with the Infinity Show Band.
